Lower Beskid

Lower Beskid

The Lower Beskid is the lowest range of the Beskids, but it is more than the mountains. This land, which still retains its authenticity, does not give in to the ubiquitous civilization. It is difficult to look for pedestrian streets, souvenir stalls, hotels or loud clubs. This is where you can spend the whole day on the trails without encountering other tourists... There are also peaks with beautiful views. The mountains are overgrown with dense forests, and the most beautiful experiences will be trekking through in the vast valleys, where human presence is hard to find. The present day seems to be dominated by history. Wooden orthodox churches perched among meadows, omnipresent roadside chapels, crosses or ruins of deserted villages, all this creates a unique character of the place where time runs slower, where today’s modern hustle is unknown. These are ideal conditions for animals, which you will find in great numbers in the Lower Beskids. Above your heads, flies a lesser spotted eagle, in the forest you can meet a Eurasian pygmy owl, a persevering ‘hunter’ can even find a Ural owl, a black stork is landing in the meadows. In the forest clearings, hinds are grazing meadows, deer stags during rut can be heard in the autumn, and in the winter, you can find tracks of wolves in the impeccably white snow.
